Our Oktoberfest beer, created in 1872, is the world's finest Oktoberfest beer, brewed for the greatest folk festival in the world. Every year, over and over again, countless Oktoberfest visitors share their enthusiasm about this beer. Amber in color, this medium bodied beer has achieved its impeccable taste by balancing the roasted malt flavor with the perfect amount of hops. having a rich textured palate with an underlying sweetness true to tradition.

My obsession with this Oktoberfest and the Spaten brand in general can date back to late 2006 when I was introduced the the beer while on a trip to Ocean City, MD for H20 International. We ended up taking the trip with a half-keg of this unique beer laying on its side belted across where the back seat of the vehicle would have been had it not been equipped with a full roll cage. Once we finally tapped the keg I found the beer to be quite delicious and my long history with the brew began. Every year since then I have made it a point to go to the store every year and collect a few cases to store away for the long winter. Thankfully tonight I happened to make a stop on the way home from work to Consumers to find a keg of this still on tap in December! I knew I could not leave without a growler of the brew.

Spaten is a unique brand with a beautiful following...

The Introduction

Dear Readers,
I wanted to start out the blog by getting the formalities out of the way first. My name is Zachary Smith, however most people just call me Zak. I am twenty-one years old and attend the University at Buffalo for Legal Studies and Political Science. I also work full time in the automotive industry.
My purpose for this blog stems from a long time interest in the culture surrounding alcoholic beverages and the newly erupted infatuation in the "micro-brew evolution." What started at the age of fifteen with me stealing Labbatt's Blue from my parents refrigerator has now evolved into an obsession with trying new beers with new flavors. I have started this blog to keep track of my adventure into the Micro-brew realm. I plan rate and discuss everything that I drink and will try to not repeat or dive into the mainstream beverages too much, but hey its going to happen!
If you enjoy the blog feel free to come and go as you please.

Cheers!
-Zak
